LG Launched UltraGear 45GX950B With 45-Inch 5K2K OLED and 330Hz Dual Mode

LG officially releases the UltraGear Evo 45GX950B in the US with a 45-inch curved OLED panel, dual-mode refresh support, DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity, and new AI picture enhancements. The monitor enters LG’s premium gaming lineup at $1,999.99 and succeeds last year’s UltraGear 45GX950A.

The display offers 44.5 inches and features a 5120 × 2160 resolution with a 21:9 aspect ratio and an aggressive 800R curve. The panel reaches up to 125 PPI, that will give the screen much sharper text and image clarity than older 45-inch OLED gaming monitors that shipped with lower pixel density panels.

LG continues with its third-generation MLA+ WOLED panel technology rather than moving to the newer fourth-generation Tandem OLED panels that Samsung recently challenged with its QD-OLED penta tandem display technology. The monitor still reaches up to 1,300 nits peak HDR brightness and carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. LG also lists a 1.5M:1 contrast ratio, Delta E≤2 color accuracy, true 10-bit color support, and 98.5% DCI-P3 coverage.

One of the biggest upgrades is the dual-mode refresh feature. layers can run the panel at full 5K2K resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate for visually detailed AAA titles, or switch to a faster 5120 × 1080 mode running at 330Hz for esports gaming where refresh rate matters more than resolution, a feature now appearing across several next-generation OLED esports monitors. The display carries VESA Dual Mode certification.

The monitor delivers a 0.03ms GTG response time for cleaner motion during fast gameplay. Combined with OLED pixel response speeds and higher refresh modes, motion blur remains lower than traditional IPS and Mini LED gaming monitors, particularly older ultrawide panels that still rely on conventional LCD backlighting.

LG is also adding several built-in AI features this generation. AI Upscaling sharpens lower-resolution content closer to native 5K2K quality without requiring GPU-based upscaling. AI Scene Optimization automatically adjusts picture settings depending on onscreen content, while AI Sound separates dialogue, effects, and ambient audio during gameplay.

The UltraGear Evo 45GX950B also carries several certifications aimed at longer gaming sessions. LG offer UL-certified for flicker-free operation, low blue light, reduced blue light, reduced circadian-stimulating blue light, and discomfort glare reduction. A matte anti-glare coating is also included to reduce reflections in darker scenes.

Connectivity includes DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB Type-C with 90W power delivery for single-cable laptop connectivity and charging. DisplayPort 2.1 bandwidth is especially important for ultrawide gaming at this resolution and refresh range because older standards struggle with uncompressed output at higher refresh rates, especially on newer 5K and high refresh OLED gaming monitors.

Adaptive sync support includes Nvidia G-SYNC Compatible certification and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support. LG also continues OLED Care maintenance features, including Pixel Cleaning functions designed to reduce long-term image retention risk.

LG also includes a two-year limited warranty covering the OLED panel.

The UltraGear Evo 45GX950B-B is now available in the US for $1,999.99 through LG’s official online store.
