LG Electronics has officially unveiled a new premium gaming monitor lineup called UltraGear evo ahead of CES 2026. The new series introduces three 5K-class gaming displays that rely on on-device AI processing to enhance image quality, signaling a shift toward smarter, more self-contained high-resolution monitors.
According to LG, the UltraGear evo lineup is designed for gamers and creators who want ultra-sharp visuals on large displays without placing additional strain on their PC’s graphics hardware. Instead of relying solely on GPU-based upscaling, these monitors use an internal AI platform that analyzes content in real time and improves clarity, contrast, and detail before the image reaches the panel.
Three Flagship UltraGear evo Models
LG confirmed that the UltraGear evo lineup consists of three flagship models, each targeting a different high-end use case.
The first model is a 39-inch 5K2K OLED gaming monitor with a slightly curved ultrawide display. LG says the on-device AI upscaling system allows games and videos rendered at lower resolutions to appear closer to native 5K quality, maintaining sharpness and visual consistency without requiring a more powerful GPU.
The second model is a 27-inch 5K Mini LED gaming monitor, which LG describes as the world’s first gaming display in this category. It uses thousands of local dimming zones to deliver more precise brightness control, reduce halo effects around bright objects, and improve contrast in darker scenes. Like the OLED model, it also features on-device AI upscaling for enhanced detail and image uniformity.
The third product in the lineup is a 52-inch 5K2K large-format gaming monitor designed as an immersive single-screen solution. LG is positioning this display as an alternative to multi-monitor setups for gaming, content creation, and productivity. The company says the combination of very high resolution, large screen size, and a high refresh rate is intended to deliver both scale and responsiveness in a single display.
On-Device AI as a Core Feature
All UltraGear evo monitors share LG’s new on-device AI platform, which handles image upscaling, scene optimization, and audio enhancement directly on the monitor. Because this processing happens internally, users can benefit from improved visual quality without upgrading their graphics card, an increasingly important advantage as ultra-high-resolution displays become more common.
LG’s approach reflects a broader industry trend toward displays that rely less on raw GPU power and more on intelligent, built-in processing to deliver premium visual experiences.

Availability and CES 2026 Showcase
LG has not yet announced pricing or exact availability for the UltraGear evo lineup. The company says full specifications and market launch details will be revealed during CES 2026 in Las Vegas, where the monitors will be publicly showcased for the first time.
With UltraGear evo, LG is positioning itself at the forefront of next-generation gaming displays by combining 5K-class resolution, large-format designs, and AI-driven processing into a single platform ahead of the industry’s biggest annual technology event.
