Logitech G releases the G512 X, a wired gaming keyboard that combines traditional mechanical switches with magnetic analog input, bringing pressure-based control to a standard keyboard layout.
The design that allows both switch types on the same board. The keyboard includes 39 hybrid switch slots where users can install either standard mechanical switches or TMR magnetic switches, a format expanding on concepts shown in Dareu A98 Pro keyboard. Logitech describes this as its first keyboard with this level of mix-and-match flexibility.
Magnetic switches change how keys behave, with similar input control explored in Keychron Q5 HE. Instead of simple on or off input, each press can be read by depth. A light press can move a character slowly, while a full press can trigger sprinting. This gives keyboard players control closer to an analog stick. Logitech also adds SAPP rings, which create a second tactile point so users can feel when a deeper input is reached.
The G512 X also pushes input speed further than most keyboards. Logitech calls it “True 8K,” where polling, reporting, and internal processing all run at 8,000Hz, matching high polling trends. That brings response time down to about 0.125ms, compared to around 1ms on standard 1,000Hz keyboards.
The keyboard is available in two layouts: 75% and 98%. Both include a gasket-style internal structure and PBT keycaps, a construction approach used in Yunzii C75 Cake Choco Blue keyboard. On the top-right corner, there are two programmable dials along with a dedicated G key and a game mode switch for quick access during play.

Logitech includes nine Gateron KS-20 magnetic switches in the box, along with SAPP rings for dual-stage input, expanding on switch customization found in Epomaker Luma100. A storage compartment on the back keeps spare switches and accessories organized, and even the keyboard feet double as keycap and switch pullers for quick changes.
A front RGB light bar adds visual effects, with patterned diffusion across the strip. The keyboard also supports an optional transparent acrylic wrist rest, sold separately, for added comfort during long sessions.
Color options include both black and white variants. The design aligns with Logitech’s wider G-series lineup, pairing with devices like the G502 X mouse and G-series headsets for a consistent setup.
The G512 X is priced at $179.99 for the 75% layout and $199.99 for the 98% version. It is available from April 28 through Logitech’s official store, with broader retail availability starting May 2.
