Maingear released the MG-1 MkII gaming desktop, the first setup to feature AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 processor, with pricing starting at $1,999 in the US. The desktop pairs a new dual-cache CPU design with flagship GPU options in a high-end prebuilt build.
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is a dual-CCD 3D V-Cache processor with 192MB of L3 cache, based on details reported in Ryzen 9 9950X3D2. It features 16 cores and 32 threads, and unlike earlier 3D V-Cache chips, this version also supports overclocking. The large cache design benefits gaming and certain AI workloads that rely on fast data access.
Buyers can also configure the desktop with Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, part of the lineup covered in Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus desktop CPUs. On the graphics side, options scale up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 or AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, with pricing trends discussed in Radeon RX 9070.
Memory support reaches up to 128GB DDR5, while storage expands with up to six NVMe SSD slots, reflecting capacity trends highlighted in Advantech DDR5 7200 industrial memory. This allows large game libraries, creative projects, or AI datasets to be stored locally without external storage.
Cooling centers around a top-mounted 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler, similar large cooling solutions are discussed in Thermalright AI Hydronous R1. The desktop also includes three 140mm intake fans and a bottom air intake channel that feeds cool air directly to the GPU. Heat is exhausted through the top radiator, keeping airflow consistent during extended gaming sessions.
The internal layout supports reverse-connector motherboards for cleaner cable routing and improved airflow, while standard builds still maintain a tidy internal layout.
The chassis features a magnetic front panel that can be swapped for custom artwork or textured finishes. RGB lighting runs through a full-length internal light strip, adding a visual upgrade compared to earlier MG-1 models.

Connectivity includes 10Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. The front I/O panel provides USB-A, USB-C, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack for quick access.
Compared to the previous MG-1, the MkII version refines airflow design, expands hardware options, and improves customization across both internal components and exterior design.
The Maingear MG-1 MkII is available now in both pre-configured builds and fully customizable configurations, starting at $1,999, placing it within pricing ranges tracked in RTX 5060 Ti gaming PC deal.
The combination of a dual 3D V-Cache CPU, flagship GPU options, and flexible storage and memory support places the MG-1 MkII at the top of the current prebuilt gaming desktop market.
