Refurbished Apple MacBook Neo Laptops Hit Online Store Starting at $599

Refurbished Apple MacBook Neo laptops are now available directly on Apple online store. The listing arrived just one day after Apple raised the retail price of new MacBook Neo models by $100. As a result, new retail models now start at $699 for the 256 GB configuration, while the 512 GB configuration is priced at $799.

Apple lists the refurbished base model with 8 GB of unified memory and a 256 GB SSD for $599, and the 512 GB model is available for $679. In Germany, the refurbished pricing starts at €679 (around $725 USD) compared to the new list price of €799 (around $855 USD). Although Apple advertises a discount of up to $120, the refurbished prices are only up to $20 cheaper than the original retail prices before the recent price increase.

The thin-and-light laptop uses the Apple A18 Pro chip, which has a 6-core CPU, a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. It includes a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with a native resolution of 2408 x 1506 pixels and up to 500 nits of peak brightness. The notebook has a 36.5 Wh battery that supports up to 16 hours of video streaming or up to 11 hours of wireless web browsing.

For connectivity, the laptop includes one USB 3 port with speeds up to 10 Gbps and a second USB 2 port, both using the USB-C interface. The design also includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack, dual speakers with 3D audio support, a 1080p FaceTime HD webcam, and a Magic Keyboard. The Citrus color scheme gives the aluminum chassis a light yellow finish, and the entire notebook weighs 1.23 kg.

At the moment, buying a refurbished model from the official store is not the most economical choice. Third-party retailers like Amazon still sell brand new MacBook Neo laptops for $589, which is $10 lower than Apple’s refurbished price. However, if retail prices on the open market increase to match Apple’s new pricing, the refurbished channel could become a viable way to save money.

Apple refurbished notebooks ship with a one-year warranty, all original accessories, and a fresh battery replacement if needed. The primary difference is that the refurbished notebook ships in a plain white box with simple lettering rather than the original printed retail packaging.
