TENKU Pocket 8 Debuts With Core i3-N305 and 8-Inch 1920×1200 Touch Display

Japanese UMPC specialist Tenku has unveiled the TENKU Pocket 8, an 8-inch 2-in-1 laptop powered by Intel’s Core i3-N305 processor. The device is priced at ¥94,800 (tax included), roughly equivalent to $630 based on current exchange rates and begins shipping on February 26, 2026 through High Beam AKIBA and Amazon Japan.

An 8-inch IPS touchscreen with a 1920 × 1200 resolution sits inside a chassis that measures 200.6 × 130.6 × 17.9 mm and weighs is 1.45 lbs (22.8 oz / 658g) . The panel supports 10-point multi-touch and delivers roughly 283 pixels per inch, resulting in sharper text rendering than many larger entry-level notebooks. A 360-degree hinge allows the display to fold fully backward for tablet-style use, positioning the device within the ultra-mobile PC (UMPC) segment alongside compact 8-inch productivity systems.

Intel’s Core i3-N305 belongs to the Alder Lake-N family and features eight cores and eight threads with a base frequency of 1.8 GHz and boost speeds up to 3.8 GHz. Unlike mainstream Core i3 U-series processors, the N305 relies entirely on efficiency-focused Gracemont cores rather than a hybrid mix of performance and efficiency cores. This places it in Intel’s low-power N-series lineup, typically operating within a 9–15W envelope depending on system configuration.

Intel UHD Graphics comes with 32 execution units and can run at speeds up to 1.25 GHz. It’s designed for everyday tasks like watching videos, browsing the web, working on documents, and handling light graphics workloads. Compared to entry-level N100 or N200 systems, the Core i3-N305 offers more cores and handles multitasking more smoothly. However, it is still less powerful than mainstream Core i3 U-series processors found in typical ultrabooks.

The performance is closer to compact mini PCs or higher-end N-series laptops rather than full ultrabooks. Office work, remote desktop sessions, heavy web browsing with many tabs open, document editing, light photo editing, and media streaming should run without issues. More demanding tasks such as long video rendering sessions, large software builds, or modern 3D gaming are beyond what this processor is designed to handle.

Memory is configured at 16GB of LPDDR5 running at 4800 MHz, paired with a 512GB PCIe SSD using the shorter M.2 2242 form factor. This storage format is commonly used in compact UMPC designs due to space constraints. The 16GB configuration exceeds many competing 8-inch Windows devices that still ship with 8GB memory, providing improved headroom for multitasking and professional workflows.

The device includes a Japanese-layout keyboard along with a TrackPoint-style pointing stick built into the compact design, making it easier to work without needing an external mouse. A 2MP front-facing camera and stereo speakers are also included for video calls and online meetings. For wireless connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. On the wired side, you get a full-function USB-C port, one USB-A 10Gbps port, one USB-A 5Gbps port, Mini HDMI 1.4, a microSD card slot that supports up to 2TB cards, and a 3.5mm headphone and microphone combo jack.

The battery is rated at 3,800mAh (7.6V), which works out to about 28.9Wh. Official figures suggest up to six hours of use, depending on what you’re doing and screen brightness. Charging is handled through USB-C with Power Delivery, and a 36W or higher adapter is recommended. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and includes a one-year warranty in Japan.

The TENKU Pocket 8 targets users who require a full Windows environment in a device small enough for travel, field work, and mobile office scenarios. Within the current 8-inch Windows ecosystem, its 16GB memory configuration and Core i3-N305 processor position it above entry-level N100-based compact systems, while remaining more affordable than many premium UMPC alternatives from brands such as GPD or One-Netbook. Availability is currently focused on the Japanese market.
