AOC Unveils AGON PRO AGP257FT: A Native 1000Hz Gaming Monitor Powered by BOE

AOC has officially entered the race for the fastest gaming display, unveiling the AGON PRO AGP257FT. Built in partnership with Chinese panel maker BOE, this new esports monitor is the first to deliver a native 1000Hz refresh rate at standard 1080p Full HD resolution. Crucially, the display achieves this native speed without relying on dual-refresh tricks or dropping the resolution down to 720p.

The screen is powered by BOE’s native 1080p panel, which displays a fresh image every single millisecond. To prevent the severe ghosting and pixel trails that usually plague standard LCDs at extreme speeds, the panel is rated for a rapid 0.2ms grey-to-grey (GTG) response time. The hardware also integrates AOC’s custom BLMB (Black Light Motion Blur) black-frame insertion technology, which strobes the backlight between frames to keep fast movements completely sharp.

AOC utilizes BOE’s ADS PRO panel technology, guaranteeing wide viewing angles and rich color reproduction. The monitor covers 99% of the sRGB color gamut and carries VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification for basic high-dynamic-range support. It represents a significant technological leap over previous speed kings like the AOC Q27G4KDP, prioritizing raw motion clarity over size.

To address the eye strain associated with prolonged competitive play, the AGP257FT integrates hardware-grade eye care features certified by TÜV Rheinland. This includes circular polarized technology that mimics the natural spiral diffusion of light to reduce harsh glare, alongside flicker-free backlighting and low blue light emissions. For connectivity, the monitor is equipped with a high-bandwidth DisplayPort 2.1 interface to handle the heavy frame throughput.

Competitively, the AGP257FT is designed to stand alongside the upcoming LG UltraGear 25G590B, helping traditional LCD panels hold their ground against rapid OLED advances. Competitive players can also utilize built-in screen ratio controls to simulate smaller 24.5-inch layouts or classic 4:3 formats for optimal focus.

AOC and BOE have not yet announced the final pricing or regional release dates for the AGON PRO AGP257FT. However, the hardware is expected to launch later this year. Competitive gamers should monitor official retail channels for shipping announcements.
