Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon X2 Refresh laptop processors will use updated versions of existing chip designs, according to a recent leak from industry source Reptalica. The next lineup is said to bypass a full generation transition in favor of refreshed silicon codenames: Kalambo Refresh, Mahua Refresh, and Glymur Refresh. According to the leaked details, Kalambo uses the same underlying die as Mahua, while Glymur remains a separate design.
The leaked database lists several engineering sample IDs for the upcoming hardware. Specifically, the parts XG291034 and XG291036 represent Mahua Refresh 12-core configurations paired with LPDDR5X memory. Another entry, labeled XG291042, indicates a 10-core version of the Mahua Refresh processor with the same memory specifications.

OEM planning material shows the Snapdragon X2 refresh listed next to an updated NVIDIA N1 graphics processor. Since notebooks using the NVIDIA N1 update are expected to arrive in retail markets later this year, the Qualcomm refresh is likely a near-term release. Both of these products target the growing market for Windows on ARM laptops, serving as rivals to Intel-based options like the Microsoft Surface Laptop 8.

Qualcomm has not confirmed the official retail names or clock speeds for this refreshed silicon family. The company already offers the Snapdragon X2 Elite and Elite Extreme with up to 18 CPU cores and Adreno X2 graphics. Because these are refreshed parts, the update will likely maintain the existing core count limit rather than push for a higher ceiling.
