Dynabook Releases Portégé Z40L-P Copilot+ Mobile Workstation With Intel Arc Pro B390

Dynabook is offering the new Portégé Z40L-P in the United States with prices starting at $2,170. The 14-inch notebook introduces Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, optional Intel Arc Pro B390 graphics, Microsoft Copilot+ capabilities, and a lightweight magnesium chassis aimed at users who need extra graphics performance without moving to a larger mobile workstation.

The lineup starts with Intel Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 processors, while higher-end models move to Intel Core Ultra X7 and Core Ultra X9 chips paired with Intel Arc Pro B390 graphics. The dedicated GPU features up to 12 Xe cores, making the notebook suitable for CAD projects, engineering software, software development, business analytics, architectural design, and creative workloads that benefit from workstation-class graphics. Memory reaches up to 64GB of LPDDR5X, while PCIe NVMe SSD storage is available up to 2TB.

Microsoft Copilot+ features come as standard. Live Captions converts spoken conversations into real-time text, while Windows Studio Effects improves video meetings with automatic framing, background blur, lighting correction, and eye contact adjustment. Dynabook adds Gesture Control, allowing users to change presentation slides or control media playback with simple hand movements in front of the webcam.

Power management automatically adjusts energy consumption according to the current workload. The notebook is fitted with a user-replaceable 56Wh lithium-polymer battery, allowing businesses to replace the battery after years of daily use instead of replacing the entire notebook.

Security features cover both hardware and software. The notebook comes with Microsoft Pluton, dTPM 2.0, Windows Hello facial recognition, a fingerprint reader, Human Presence Detection, and Microsoft Secured-core PC certification. Lock-On Leave locks the notebook when the user walks away, Wake-On Approach restores the desktop after the user returns, Adaptive Dimming reduces screen brightness when attention moves away from the display, and Peek Alert warns when someone is looking over the user’s shoulder.

Video meetings are supported by a 5MP webcam, infrared camera, privacy shutter, dual microphones, and Dolby Atmos stereo speakers.

The notebook offers two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, RJ-45 Ethernet, Intel Ethernet Connection i219, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm headset jack.
