NVIDIA is giving away a custom GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition inspired by Gears of War: E-Day through its GeForce Summer Nights campaign. This version will not be sold in stores. It is a limited collector’s edition created to celebrate the next chapter of the Gears of War series ahead of its October 6, 2026 debut.
The Founders Edition cooler carries artwork featuring Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago, two of the franchise’s most recognizable characters. NVIDIA describes the design as a tribute to their brotherhood, with the artwork covering both sides of the graphics card while keeping the original Founders Edition design underneath.
Hardware specifications are unchanged from the standard GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition. Buyers get the same Blackwell architecture, memory capacity, cooling solution, and gaming performance found in the retail graphics card. The artwork is the only difference between the giveaway edition and the standard model.
The promotion is part of NVIDIA’s Summer of RTX celebration. Entries are accepted through NVIDIA’s official posts on X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, Reddit, and Discord by following the instructions listed on each platform. NVIDIA has not announced how many cards will be available.
NVIDIA will showcase the graphics card during a GeForce Summer Nights livestream hosted by GeForce Evangelist Jacob Freeman on Twitch. The broadcast covers the custom RTX 5080, Gears of War: E-Day, and the RTX technologies available in the game on PC.
Gears of War: E-Day arrives on October 6, 2026 with Unreal Engine 5.8. The PC version supports DLSS 4.5, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, NVIDIA Reflex, DirectX 12, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing from day one on supported GeForce RTX graphics cards.
The Coalition is introducing several new visual upgrades. Lumen powers ray-traced global illumination and reflections, MegaLights adds shadows from up to 100 dynamic light sources, and Nanite greatly increases environmental detail compared with previous Gears games. Players will see larger battlefields, real-time destruction, volumetric effects, and the new Horde Siege mode alongside an updated Versus multiplayer experience.

The Open Beta begins on August 6 for players who pre-order the game and for PC Game Pass subscribers. DLSS Super Resolution and NVIDIA Reflex are available during the beta, matching the rendering features planned for the full game.
The standard GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition has a suggested retail price of $999. The Gears of War: E-Day version is available only through NVIDIA’s official giveaway, with no retail version planned. Full giveaway rules are available through NVIDIA’s promotion page.
