AOC Launches GU27B36 Gaming Monitor With Dual-Mode 4K 160Hz and FHD 320Hz

AOC’s new GU27B36 gaming monitor combines two display modes on a single 27-inch Fast IPS panel. It runs at 3840 × 2160 resolution with a 160Hz refresh rate or switches to 1920 × 1080 at 320Hz. AOC has already published the monitor on its official website, while the price and release schedule have not been announced.

The dual-mode display lets users change between 4K and Full HD directly from the monitor. The 4K mode keeps the native resolution at 160Hz, while the second mode increases the refresh rate to 320Hz at Full HD. Unlike some high-refresh displays that drop below 1080p to reach their highest refresh rates, the GU27B36 stays at Full HD in its fastest mode.

AOC pairs the monitor with a Fast IPS panel featuring a 1ms GtG response time and 0.5ms MPRT. The panel delivers 300 nits of typical brightness, a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 100% sRGB coverage, and 95% DCI-P3 coverage. In sRGB mode, factory calibration keeps Delta E below 2 for improved color accuracy.

Adaptive Sync VRR and MBR Sync are available for smoother motion during gameplay. The on-screen menu provides Dynamic Crosshair, Sniper Mode, Dark Area Control, Shadow Enhancement, and Game Color adjustment, giving players quick access to picture controls without extra software.

The monitor comes with Flicker-Free backlighting and a hardware Low Blue Light mode. The bundled stand supports tilt adjustment, while height adjustment, swivel, and pivot are not listed in the official specifications.

Connectivity consists of HDMI 2.1 FRL, DisplayPort 1.4, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The official specification sheet does not mention USB-C, a USB hub, KVM switching, built-in speakers, DisplayHDR certification, or local dimming.

The GU27B36 joins AOC’s growing range of dual-mode gaming monitors, alongside models such as the U27G4R, which offers the same UHD 160Hz and FHD 320Hz display concept in the company’s gaming lineup. The new model carries the same dual-mode approach in a more mainstream series while keeping core gaming features such as Adaptive Sync VRR, MBR Sync, HDMI 2.1 FRL, and wide color coverage.

AOC has not shared regional availability, pricing, warranty details, power consumption, or package contents. Those details are expected after the monitor reaches retail channels. For now, the official listing confirms the display specifications and gaming features, but the company has not provided a sales timeline.
