Asus Dawn 7S Ryzen Edition pairs AMD’s Ryzen AI 5 330 processor with support for up to 96GB of memory, a specification rarely seen in a laptop priced at 6,999 yuan (about $965). The notebook combines a 2.5K 144Hz display, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, a 70Wh battery, and expandable memory capacity aimed at productivity-focused users.
The Dawn 7S ships with 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, but the upgrade path is what sets it apart. Asus allows memory expansion up to 96GB, providing considerably more room for multitasking, virtual machines, software development, data analysis, and other workloads that benefit from large memory pools.
AMD’s Ryzen AI 5 330 processor powers the notebook. The chip features four cores and eight threads built on a combination of Zen 5 and Zen 5c CPU cores. It is paired with AMD’s XDNA 2 neural processing unit, which delivers up to 50 TOPS of NPU performance.

The display moves beyond the basic panels often found in mainstream productivity laptops. Asus has equipped the Dawn 7S with a 2.5K IPS screen featuring a 144Hz refresh rate and 400 nits of brightness. The higher refresh rate provides smoother scrolling, window movement, and desktop navigation compared to standard 60Hz panels.
The notebook weighs approximately 4.12 lbs (1.87 kg) and features a spill-resistant keyboard with 1.5 mm key travel. Asus has added four dedicated blue shortcut keys that can be customized for applications, macros, or frequently used commands, allowing users to access common tasks more quickly.
For security, the Dawn 7S includes an integrated fingerprint reader. Video calls and online meetings are supported through a built-in 1080p webcam.
Wireless connectivity consists of Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Physical connectivity includes two USB Type-C ports, two USB Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, an RJ45 Ethernet port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. One of the USB-C ports supports DisplayPort output for external displays.

Battery capacity stands at 70Wh, with charging provided through a 65W USB-C adapter. The combination places the notebook above many entry-level business laptops that typically ship with smaller batteries.
Graphics are provided by AMD’s Radeon 820M integrated GPU. The laptop is clearly aimed at office productivity, business applications, web-based workloads, and multitasking rather than gaming-focused use cases.
The Dawn 7S Ryzen Edition combines a Ryzen AI processor, a high-refresh-rate 2.5K display, modern wireless connectivity, and unusually generous memory expansion in a notebook that remains below the $1,000 price mark. Global availability has not yet been announced.
