Pre-orders for the Chuwi UniBook are now live with a temporary promotional price of $449, aiming to challenge the Apple MacBook Neo in the budget tier. The 14-inch laptop uses Intel’s entry-level Core 3 304 processor from the Wildcat Lake family and has a slim anodized aluminum chassis. Customers can place pre-orders now, with shipping estimated to begin on July 20, 2026.
The promotional price includes a $50 early-bird discount off the regular $499 sale price, which will expire after July 2, 2026, when the price reverts to $499. In comparison to the MacBook Neo, the UniBook has a wider range of physical ports but compromises on screen brightness and memory speeds. Specifically, the soldered 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM runs at 6400 MT/s rather than the 7467 MT/s speed that was originally announced by the brand.

Intel’s Core 3 304 processor is built on the 18A manufacturing process, and early benchmarks suggest its performance matches the A18 Pro chip inside Apple’s rival laptop. This laptop joins other recent Wildcat Lake models like the HP StarBook Plus 14 in utilizing Intel’s new mobile platform. For graphics, the laptop relies on Intel Graphics with Xe3 architecture, which yields up to 9 GPU TOPS for AI workloads.
Storage consists of a 256GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD, but users can expand it via a single M.2 2280 slot that supports PCIe 4.0 x4 SSDs. The 14-inch IPS display utilizes a 16:10 aspect ratio and a WUXGA resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. While it covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut, the peak brightness is limited to 300 nits, which is lower than the 500 nits offered by the MacBook Neo.

For battery life, the laptop contains a 53.38Wh battery that supports 65W USB-C Power Delivery charging and can reach 60% capacity in one hour. Physical connectivity includes a Gigabit Ethernet jack, HDMI 1.4b output, a TF card slot, a 3.5mm audio jack, two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and a USB 2.0 port. The laptop measures 16.4 mm in thickness and weighs 1.2 kg.
