GIGABYTE has listed a new Micro ATX motherboard for AMD Socket AM5 processors, named the B840M FORCE WIFI6E. The budget-friendly board belongs to the company’s Force series, featuring a striking orange color design. It is built to support the AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 series desktop processors, offering users an affordable entry point into the newer AM5 platform.
To power the processors, GIGABYTE equipped the board with a digital 8+2+2 phase VRM design, paired with high-quality chokes and capacitors on a double-copper PCB. Memory support is handled by two DDR5 DIMM slots in a dual-channel configuration. The board utilizes GIGABYTE’s “D5 Bionic Corsa” tuning technology, which uses AI signal enhancement to overclock memory speeds up to 8200 MT/s. This budget board joins other recent AM5 socket options, such as the ASUS TUF B850I WiFi Neo, in expanding layout choices for compact builds.
The main highlight of the motherboard is its integrated “X3D Turbo Mode” in the BIOS. This optimization setting allows users to boost gaming frame rates with a single click. According to GIGABYTE, the mode can improve gaming performance by up to 18% for Ryzen 9000 X3D processors. It also optimizes Ryzen 9000 non-X3D processors to reach similar performance levels to their X3D counterparts by lowering overall latency.

For expansion, the motherboard includes one main PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and a secondary PCIe 3.0 x4 slot. The main graphics card slot features an EZ-Latch quick-release design, making it simple to swap out cards. Storage needs are met by two M.2 slots (one PCIe 4.0 and one PCIe 3.0) and two SATA III connectors. The M.2 slots are cooled by GIGABYTE’s metal Thermal Guard heatsinks to prevent performance throttling from heat build-up.
Networking capabilities are handled by a Realtek 2.5GbE wired LAN controller and an integrated MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E wireless card, which supports speeds up to 2.4Gbps and includes Bluetooth 5.3. Rear I/O connectivity options include HDMI and DisplayPort for integrated processor graphics.
