KTC unveils the M27P6S monitor with 4K 160Hz/1080p 320Hz dual-mode Mini LED, priced at 2999 yuan

KTC has launched a new 27-inch gaming monitor called the M27P6S in China, and it is now listed on JD.com for 2999 yuan. The monitor offers two display modes, 3840×2160 resolution at 160Hz and 1920×1080 at 320Hz. It also uses a 2304-zone Mini LED backlight and can reach up to 1400 nits peak brightness in HDR, while SDR brightness is rated at 550 nits.

The main feature of this monitor is its dual-mode design. It lets users switch between high resolution and very high refresh rate depending on the type of game. When using 4K at 160Hz, the focus is on sharp image quality and detailed visuals, which is useful for story-based or open-world games. When switched to 1080p at 320Hz, the focus changes to speed and smooth motion, which is important for competitive games like shooting or racing titles. This helps because most graphics cards cannot easily run games at very high frame rates in 4K.

The 1080p mode is not native, as it is scaled from the same 4K panel. Because of this, the image will not look as sharp as a true 1080p monitor of the same size. Even so, the benefit is the ability to reach much higher refresh rates without needing a second display.

The monitor uses a Fast IPS panel with wide viewing angles of 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically. It also has a typical contrast ratio of 1000:1 in SDR mode and up to 1,000,000:1 in HDR when local dimming is active. The Mini LED backlight uses 2304 dimming zones, which helps improve contrast and reduce light bleeding in dark scenes. While this does not match the pixel-level control of OLED panels, it can still deliver strong HDR performance, especially in bright scenes.

Color performance is another strong point. The monitor supports 99 percent sRGB, 99 percent DCI-P3, and 97 percent Adobe RGB color spaces. It uses 8-bit plus FRC to display about 1.07 billion colors. This makes it suitable for both gaming and content work like photo or video editing. However, exact color accuracy will depend on factory calibration and real-world testing.

The connectivity options are designed for modern devices and high refresh rate usage.

DisplayPort 1.4 does not have enough raw bandwidth for uncompressed 4K at 160Hz, so it uses Display Stream Compression. This is normal for modern monitors, but users need a compatible graphics card. HDMI 2.1 is a better option for full performance with newer GPUs.

The monitor has a response time of 2ms GtG. It also mentions motion clarity features, but actual performance depends on tuning, which cannot be judged from specifications alone. At very high refresh rates like 320Hz, good tuning is important to avoid blur or ghosting.

The stand supports height adjustment, tilt, and rotation, and the monitor can also be mounted using VESA support. It includes a three-year warranty, which adds confidence for buyers.

The monitor is expected to support adaptive sync for smoother gameplay, although full details are not clearly listed. The HDR performance is rated at 1400 nits, but official certification details are not confirmed.

At 2999 yuan, this monitor is priced competitively for a Mini LED display with a high number of dimming zones and dual-mode support. It is designed for users who want one monitor for both high-quality gaming and fast competitive play. It can also be useful for creative work because of its wide color coverage.

The final performance of this monitor will depend on how well it handles HDR, motion clarity, and mode switching in real use. These details will become clear after independent testing. As it stands, the M27P6S brings together high resolution, very high refresh rate, and strong brightness in one product, making it a flexible option in its category.
