NVIDIA Announces 14 New GeForce Trading Cards Without GPUs

NVIDIA has announced a new GeForce card series, but none of the 14 new collectible models contain an actual graphics processor. Named the GeForce Trading Cards Series 1, this physical collection highlights classic hardware, video games, and tech demos from the brand’s history. These collectible items have no CUDA cores, no video outputs, and cannot be installed in a PCIe slot.

While collectors can hunt for these physical cards, hardware enthusiasts can find real collector items like the Zotac 20th Anniversary GPUs in stores. The trading cards celebrate famous milestones, similar to how recent hardware releases like the ASUS ROG Astral BTF Anniversary GPU highlight custom designs. Releasing these physical cards helps celebrate the legacy of PC graphics processing.

The Series 1 collection includes cards representing the 1995 NV1 multimedia processor and the 1999 GeForce 256, which was the world’s first GPU. Other models highlight the programmable shaders of the GeForce 3, the CineFX 4.0 engine of the GeForce 7800 GTX, and the Pascal-based GeForce 10 Series. The cards also nod to classic real-time rendering demos like Bubble, Chameleon, and Medusa.

In addition to hardware history, the set pays tribute to the brand’s gaming signature program with cards inspired by Unreal Tournament 2004 and Borderlands. Another notable design depicts the special-edition GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Cyberpunk 2077 Edition graphics card. A dedicated checklist card is also part of the set to help collectors track their collection progress.

Instead of selling the card packs through standard computer hardware retailers, the company plans to distribute them for free. Fans can win the cards through the Summer of RTX promotional giveaways on GeForce social media channels. The cards will also appear at live conventions including Bilibili World 2026, QuakeCon 2026, and gamescom 2026.

Attendees at these in-person summer events can search for GeForce community representatives to obtain card packs. NVIDIA has not indicated if it plans to sell the Series 1 trading cards separately in the future. Collectors will need to stay tuned to official social media channels to catch the next giveaway event.
