Shuttle’s XPC Barebone SB860R8 is now available in Europe with a recommended price of €483 before VAT. The 14-liter cube PC supports Intel Core Ultra 200 desktop processors, up to 192GB of DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0 NVMe storage, and four internal 3.5-inch drive bays.
The barebone is built on Intel’s B860 chipset and features the LGA1851 socket. It supports Intel Core Ultra 200 Series 9, 7, and 5 desktop processors with a base TDP of up to 125W. Compatible processors with an integrated NPU deliver up to 13 TOPS of AI performance, while Core Ultra models ending with the “F” suffix require a dedicated graphics card.
Four DDR5 DIMM slots support up to 192GB of DDR5-5600 memory in dual-channel mode. The large memory capacity is suitable for virtual machines, engineering applications, video editing, and workloads that process large datasets.
The chassis provides four 3.5-inch SATA drive bays with RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 10, and JBOD support through Intel Rapid Storage Technology. Two M.2 slots are available for NVMe SSDs, with one supporting PCIe 5.0 x4 and the other supporting PCIe 4.0 x4 drives. A separate M.2 2230 slot accepts an optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module. Shuttle offers an optional adapter for installing 2.5-inch drives.

A PCIe 5.0 x16 slot supports dual-slot graphics cards measuring up to 280 × 120 × 40 mm. The chassis leaves enough room for workstation and desktop GPUs within those size limits.
The built-in 500W 80 Plus Gold Flex ATX power supply provides dedicated 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Shuttle rates the barebone for graphics cards with power consumption of up to 300W.
A second PCIe 4.0 x4 slot is available for expansion cards, including storage controllers, capture cards, or high-speed networking adapters.

Networking is provided by two Intel i226-LM 2.5GbE Ethernet ports. The dual-port setup supports network teaming and failover. When paired with a compatible Core Ultra processor with integrated graphics, the barebone can drive up to four displays through two DisplayPort 1.4a outputs, one HDMI 2.1 port, and one HDMI 2.0b port. The HDMI 2.1 connection supports resolutions up to 8K at 60Hz.
The front and rear panels provide ten USB ports, including USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, USB Type-C, and USB 2.0. Separate microphone, line-in, and line-out jacks are available for audio. Internal headers support an optional RS232 serial interface, an external power button, and wireless antennas.

Shuttle’s Integrated Cooling Engine (I.C.E.) combines ten copper heat pipes with three temperature-controlled fans. A dedicated fan directs airflow across the drive cage to cool installed hard drives during continuous operation.
