Thermaltake Releases Dr. Power III Pro ATX 3.1 PSU Tester

Thermaltake has released a new power supply tester called the Dr. Power III Pro that helps builders verify the stability of modern ATX 3.1 power supplies. The tool, which first appeared as a prototype at CES 2026, targets repair technicians, system integrators, and DIY enthusiasts. The device checks whether the power delivery from various cables is safe before the hardware is connected to a motherboard.

The Dr. Power III Pro has connectors to test a 24-pin ATX main power cable, 4+4 pin EPS lines, 6+2 pin PCIe power cables, SATA power connectors, and 4-pin Molex plugs. In addition to these standard connections, the tester has a 12+4-pin (12V-2×6) PCIe Gen 5.1 port to support up to 600W configurations. The tester also detects SENSE0 and SENSE1 sideband signals to verify power levels of 150W, 300W, 450W, and 600W on modern graphics cards.

Properly calibrated voltages are essential for desktop storage drives, helping builders avoid the data corruption risks sometimes encountered on the best ssd laptops. The clear LCD screen shows real-time voltage readings for the +12V, +5V, +3.3V, and +5Vsb output rails. These readouts make diagnosing power rail drops or surges simple for builders trying to troubleshoot a computer crash.
