ViewSonic VX24G26J-4K Pairs 4K Resolution and 160Hz Refresh Rate at 23.8 Inches

The ViewSonic VX24G26J-4K gaming monitor is now available in China, pairing a 3840×2160 resolution with a 160Hz refresh rate in a 23.8-inch size class. Priced at 2,199 RMB (approximately $306), this new model uses a Fast IPS panel and a low-reflection coating to reduce screen glare. It is the first time a monitor of this small size combines a native 4K display with high-refresh-rate gaming capabilities.

At 23.8 inches, the 4K panel achieves a high pixel density of approximately 185 PPI. This setup provides much sharper text and desktop clarity than larger 27-inch 4K panels, which sit at around 163 PPI. The high resolution means that gaming at native settings will require a capable graphics card.

Overview of key specifications including 4K resolution, 160Hz refresh rate, Fast IPS panel, and Nano Obsidian screen.

ViewSonic uses a Nano Obsidian Screen coating on the display, which limits reflections to a low 1.8% rate. The monitor supports a 1 ms gray-to-gray response time, Adaptive-Sync for variable refresh rates, and compatibility with AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync. It also includes black level stabilization, custom crosshairs, and hardware low blue light filters to help reduce eye strain.

Connectivity is handled by one DisplayPort 1.4 port and two HDMI 2.1 inputs, all capable of driving the full 4K resolution at 160Hz. The included stand supports a complete range of adjustments, including height, tilt, swivel, and pivot rotation. Users can also detach the stand to use a standard 100×100 mm VESA wall mount.

The monitor is currently listed on JD.com in China, with shipping scheduled to begin this month. ViewSonic has not yet announced international pricing or release dates, but the model is expected to arrive in other global markets later this year.
