Gigabyte Z890 PLUS Boards Get Ultra Turbo Mode, Up to 40% Boost

Gigabyte is introducing its Z890 PLUS motherboard lineup for Intel Core Ultra 200S processors with a one-click performance feature and faster DDR5 support aimed at mainstream builds. Models such as the Z890 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 PLUS sit at the center of the range, offering strong performance without stepping into flagship pricing.

The key addition is Ultra Turbo Mode. This BIOS option allows a one-click performance increase, with Gigabyte stating up to a 40% CPU boost in select workloads. t also unlocks higher DDR5 speeds, with support reaching up to 10266 MT/s depending on the memory kit and configuration, aligning with developments in HUDIMM DDR5 memory.

Instead of manual tuning, the boards provide preset profiles. Users can switch between balanced, performance, and extreme modes. Each profile adjusts power limits, CPU behavior, and memory speed in one step, making tuning easier while still allowing higher performance when paired with capable cooling, a trend highlighted in Intel CPU price hike May 2026 AI demand.

Memory design is a major part of this generation. The Z890 AORUS ELITE DUO X features D5 DUO X technology, which supports up to 256GB of DDR5 using two modules. This layout improves signal stability and helps maintain higher memory speeds compared to traditional four-slot configurations.

Gigabyte also shared internal benchmarks comparing Core Ultra 200S builds with Intel 14th Gen platforms, reflecting comparisons discussed in Intel Bartlett Lake Z790 mod benchmark. The company reports up to 28% higher gaming performance and up to 35% gains in productivity workloads. These gains reflect a mix of newer CPUs, faster memory, and platform-level tuning rather than a single component change.

In real-world builds, the one-click boost depends on cooling, power delivery, and memory choice, factors addressed in systems such as Thermalright AI Hydronous R1. High-end cooling allows the board to sustain higher performance levels for longer sessions, while entry-level setups may see smaller gains. Memory speed also plays a role, especially when pushing toward the upper DDR5 range.

Gigabyte is also running a launch promotion alongside the Z890 PLUS series. Buyers who register eligible boards can receive a Gift Box with items such as a Moleskine notebook, a Hydro Flask mug, and an AORUS-themed calendar. Some boxes include a Golden Ticket with prizes such as liquid cooling hardware and other accessories.

The Z890 PLUS series is available through retail and online partners. Pricing depends on the model and region, with the lineup positioned below flagship boards while still offering features tied to Intel’s latest Core Ultra platform.

The takeaway is simple: Gigabyte is focusing on easy performance tuning, higher memory speeds, and better value for Core Ultra desktop builds.
