Minisforum’s new NAB9S mini PC pairs Intel’s Core i9-13900HK processor with DDR4 memory, dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, tool-free upgrades, and support for both PCIe 4.0 NVMe and 2.5-inch SATA storage. The barebone version starts at $399, while a configuration with 32GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD is priced at $759.
Intel’s Core i9-13900HK powers the NAB9S with 14 CPU cores, 20 threads, and boost speeds of up to 5.4GHz. Intel UHD Graphics takes care of display output, making the mini PC well suited for office work, software development, virtual machines, media playback, coding, and everyday multitasking.
Memory support remains with DDR4 instead of DDR5. Two SO-DIMM slots accept DDR4-3200 memory with capacities of up to 32GB. Existing DDR4 modules can be reused, making upgrades straightforward for users moving from older hardware.
Storage is split between one PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 slot and one dedicated 2.5-inch SATA drive bay. The layout allows a fast NVMe SSD for the operating system while leaving room for a larger SATA SSD or hard drive for files, media, and backups. Minisforum bundles the required SATA cable in the package.
The top cover opens with a simple press, giving direct access to the memory slots and storage without removing screws. The tool-free design makes future upgrades and routine maintenance much quicker than many compact desktops.

Cooling receives an update with dual heat pipes, dual airflow channels, and dedicated SSD cooling. The revised design helps keep processor and storage temperatures under control during extended workloads such as compiling software, running multiple virtual machines, or transferring large files.
The front panel provides two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. On the rear, the mini PC offers two HDMI ports, two USB Type-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, and dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet connections. One rear USB Type-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, giving users another display output alongside HDMI.

Wireless connectivity comes through Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The compact chassis measures 127 × 127.5 × 54.7 mm and weighs around 570 grams. A VESA mounting bracket is included for attaching the mini PC behind a compatible monitor to free up desk space.
Compared with the earlier NAB9, the new model moves from Intel’s Core i9-12900HK to the newer Core i9-13900HK processor and receives an updated cooling design. Minisforum removes the OCuLink connector found on some previous models and does not provide USB4, keeping the focus on essential desktop connectivity.
The Minisforum NAB9S is available now through the company’s official store.
