ASUS ROG Strix XG259QNSR Ace pairs a 24.5-inch Fast IPS panel with a 420Hz overclocked refresh rate, DisplayHDR 400 certification, ELMB Sync, and GamingAI features. The monitor is now listed on ASUS global website after its first debut in China, while pricing and regional availability remain unconfirmed.
The new model moves beyond the existing ROG Strix XG259QNS by increasing the overclocked refresh rate from 380Hz to 420Hz. ASUS keeps the display at 1920 × 1080 resolution and targets players who want the highest possible frame rates in competitive games.
The Fast IPS panel delivers a 1ms GTG response time, while ASUS rates the minimum response time at 0.3ms. According to the company, the liquid crystal layer switches up to four times faster than a conventional IPS panel, cutting visible motion blur during fast movement on screen.
Motion performance receives another upgrade through ELMB Sync, allowing Extreme Low Motion Blur and variable refresh rate to run together. The monitor supports NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, AMD FreeSync Premium, and Variable Overdrive 2.0, which automatically adjusts overdrive settings as frame rates change to reduce ghosting and overshoot.
GamingAI adds two hardware-based features. Dynamic Crosshair changes the crosshair color according to the background, making it easier to see during gameplay. Dynamic Shadow Boost brightens darker parts of a scene without washing out brighter areas. Both features run directly through the monitor instead of relying on game support.
The display carries VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, covers 90% of the DCI-P3 color space, and reaches 115% sRGB. ASUS provides a factory color calibration report with every monitor for improved color accuracy.
ASUS has redesigned the stand with a smaller footprint than previous ROG models. The compact base frees up more desk space for a keyboard and mouse, while the stand supports height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and pivot. Standard 100 × 100mm VESA mounting is available for users who prefer a monitor arm.
Display settings can be changed through DisplayWidget Center, removing the need to navigate the on-screen display with physical buttons. The software allows separate display profiles for different games and applications.

Connectivity consists of one DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 TMDS ports, two USB Type-A ports through the integrated USB hub, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The monitor supports gaming PCs, consoles, and other compatible devices through these connections.
ASUS offers the monitor in both a standard black finish and a white ROG Strix XG259QNSR Ace W version. The company has not announced pricing or a release schedule for global markets.
