HP Introduces 16 Inch OmniBook 7 With Intel Panther Lake, and B390 Graphics

HP’s OmniBook 7 16 is now available for pre-order with Intel Core Ultra 200 “Panther Lake” processors, display options reaching 240Hz, and Intel Arc B390 graphics on selected models. The new 16-inch laptop offers memory up to 64GB, storage up to 2TB, and three different display choices. Shipping is scheduled to begin on July 31 in the United States.

The processor lineup starts with the Intel Core Ultra 5 325 and extends to the Core Ultra X9 388H. Intel Arc B390 graphics with 12 Xe3 cores are available on the Core Ultra X7 358H and Core Ultra X9 388H models, while the remaining versions come with Intel Graphics. Intel AI Boost delivers up to 50 TOPS on supported configurations for AI-assisted applications.

Memory options range from 16GB to 64GB of onboard LPDDR5X memory. Storage starts at 512GB and reaches 2TB through PCIe NVMe SSDs, while selected models support PCIe Gen5 storage for higher transfer speeds.

Three display options are available. The entry model comes with a 16-inch IPS panel offering a 1920 × 1200 resolution, 300 nits of brightness, and 62.5% sRGB coverage. A second IPS panel raises the resolution to 2560 × 1600, reaches 500 nits of brightness, covers the full sRGB color space, and refreshes at up to 240Hz. Buyers can choose a 2048 × 1280 OLED touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR brightness up to 620 nits, and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage.

The notebook carries a 5MP infrared camera with HDR auto switching and temporal noise reduction for video calls. Dual-array microphones work alongside stereo speakers tuned by Poly Studio, with DTS:X Ultra and HP Audio Boost available for voice and media playback.

Ports consist of one Thunderbolt 4 connector supporting DisplayPort 2.1 and USB Power Delivery 3.1, one USB-C port with DisplayPort 1.4a, two USB Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Wireless connectivity comes through Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, with Intel or MediaTek wireless modules depending on the model.

Power comes from a 70Wh battery paired with a 100W USB-C GaN charger. HP rates the fast-charging feature at around 50% battery capacity in approximately 30 minutes under supported charging conditions.

The OmniBook 7 16 has passed MIL-STD-810H durability testing covering drops, vibration, humidity, altitude, and temperature conditions. The chassis incorporates recycled aluminum, ocean-bound plastics, and post-consumer recycled materials. It carries EPEAT Gold with Climate+ registration and ENERGY STAR certification.

Every model comes with a full-size backlit keyboard featuring a numeric keypad, a dedicated Copilot key, TPM security, a physical camera shutter, and Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro depending on configuration. The laptop weighs approximately 1.96kg (4.32 pounds).

The entry model is currently available for $849.99, reduced from its regular $1,309.99 price. This version comes with the Core Ultra 5 325 processor, 16GB memory, a 512GB SSD, and the Full HD IPS display. A fully configured model with the Core Ultra X9 388H processor, 64GB memory, a 2TB SSD, and the OLED display is priced at $3,079. Shipping is expected to begin on July 31.
