Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 and Surface Pro 12 with Snapdragon X2 for Business Go on Sale

Microsoft is now selling the Surface Laptop 8 for Business and Surface Pro 12 for Business with Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 processors. The new business PCs sit alongside Intel versions, giving companies both Arm and x86 hardware in the same Surface family. Orders opened on July 14 through Microsoft’s business store and authorized partners.

Surface Laptop 8 for Business is available with Snapdragon X2 Plus and Snapdragon X2 Elite processors. Microsoft reports graphics performance up to 58% higher than the previous Snapdragon Surface Laptop. Surface Pro 12 for Business receives the Snapdragon X2 chip as well, with graphics performance up to 53% higher than the earlier model. Both devices qualify as Copilot+ PCs.

The integrated privacy screen remains exclusive to Surface Laptop 8 for Business. It limits screen visibility from different angles, helping reduce unwanted viewing in offices, airports, cafés, and other public spaces. Consumer Surface Laptop models do not offer this display option.

Surface Laptop 8 for Business introduces Microsoft’s new Windows 11 haptic touchpad. Users receive tactile feedback while dragging files, snapping windows, and working in compatible applications. Affinity applications are already prepared for the new haptic features.

Business editions come with Windows 11 Pro or Windows 11 Enterprise. Device Firmware Configuration Interface (DFCI), Windows Autopilot tenant pre-registration, Surface Management Portal, Advanced Exchange Warranty, and native domain onboarding are available for IT administrators. Microsoft continues to sell Intel versions for organizations that require x86 compatibility.

The Snapdragon model of Surface Pro 12 for Business does not offer 5G connectivity. That feature remains exclusive to the Intel version. Surface Laptop 8 for Business is still the only Surface notebook with Microsoft’s integrated privacy screen.

Microsoft has updated its Surface Repair Tool for the new devices. Technicians can test the battery, display, camera, touchpad, and motherboard before starting supported repairs. Both products are built with recycled aluminum in key chassis components and meet ENERGY STAR efficiency requirements.

Consumer Surface Laptop and Surface Pro models with Snapdragon X2 processors have been available since June 16. Business availability officially started on July 14 through Microsoft’s commercial sales channels and authorized partners.
