MSI is now one of the world’s first EPEAT 2.0 Launch Partners, and its flagship Prestige 13 AI+ Evo A2VMG business laptop has achieved EPEAT 2.0 Silver certification. The new EPEAT 2.0 standard evaluates electronic products across 80 different criteria to verify their environmental impact. This milestone indicates that the manufacturer is prioritizing sustainability alongside computing performance in its product development.

The Prestige 13 laptop uses Advanced Thixomolding Technology to create an ultra-lightweight magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis that weighs just 0.99 kg (2.2 lbs). This manufacturing process reduces material waste and energy consumption compared to traditional molding methods. In addition to the lightweight metal, the notebook uses Post-Consumer Recycled plastics and ships in FSC-certified paper packaging.
To protect users and the environment, MSI avoids hazardous substances by applying EPEAT-compliant surface coatings and chemicals. The laptop also includes optimized power management settings to exceed standard Energy Star requirements for electricity consumption. These choices help lower the carbon footprint of the hardware during its production and daily use.
MSI is extending these green standards to its supply chain by enforcing a strict Supplier Code of Conduct. The company conducts audits for key suppliers to verify safe working conditions and fair labor rights. Furthermore, suppliers must prove they source minerals like tin, tungsten, and gold exclusively from verified conflict-free smelters.
These practices align with the company’s broader climate goal to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2035. The carbon reduction targets are validated by the Science Based Targets initiative as part of the path to net-zero emissions. The manufacturer plans to certify more business and gaming notebooks under the EPEAT 2.0 program in the future.
