TerraMaster D1 Rugged SSD Enclosure With IP67, 1.2-Ton Crush

TerraMaster’s D1 SSD brings a rugged approach to portable NVMe storage, combining waterproof sealing, crush resistance, and high-speed USB transfer in a compact enclosure priced at $39.99.

A unibody aircraft-grade aluminum shell provides the main structure, built to resist corrosion, scratches, and long-term wear. The enclosure is rated to withstand up to 1.2 tons of pressure, with an internal design that absorbs shock from drops and impacts during regular use. Protection levels are verified through standardized testing, including third-party certification.

Water and dust protection are covered by an IP67 rating. Proper sealing depends on aligned covers, intact gaskets, and secured screws, allowing the enclosure to remain submerged in up to one meter of water for 30 minutes while keeping internal components protected.

Support is limited to M.2 2280 NVMe SSDs across PCIe 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 standards, with capacity reaching up to 8TB. Data transfer runs over USB 3.2 Gen2 with up to 10Gbps bandwidth. UASP and TRIM support help maintain stable speeds during sustained workloads, with sequential performance reaching around 1020 MB/s depending on the installed drive.

Thermal handling relies on the enclosure itself. The aluminum body acts as a passive heatsink, supported by an internal thermal pad and a design that expands surface area by roughly 2.5 times to improve heat dissipation. This keeps temperatures stable without active cooling or added noise.

Compatibility includes Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS devices, along with support for OTG connections and external displays such as TVs. The TDAS mobile app enables one-tap photo backup directly to local storage, avoiding reliance on cloud services.

At around 146 grams, the enclosure remains small enough for daily carry while targeting use cases where storage devices face harsher conditions, including outdoor shoots, field work, and travel setups. The D1 can store large datasets, with official figures indicating capacity for millions of photos or thousands of video files depending on configuration.

The enclosure is available through TerraMaster’s official store and global retailers, backed by a two-year warranty.
