AMD’s AM4 platform continues receiving new hardware in 2026, with ASRock introducing the B550 Rock WiFi. The motherboard pairs Wi-Fi 6E, 2.5GbE networking, PCIe 4.0 storage support, and a full-size ATX layout, giving existing Ryzen users a new upgrade option without moving to AM5.
Few desktop platforms remain active for this long. Nearly a decade after AM4 first entered the market, motherboard manufacturers are still building products around it as Ryzen 3000 and Ryzen 5000 processors remain widely used across gaming and productivity PCs.
The B550 Rock WiFi supports Ryzen 3000, Ryzen 4000G, Ryzen 5000, and Ryzen 5000G processors. ASRock pairs the B550 chipset with an 8+2 phase power design and large heatsinks, allowing support for everything from mainstream six-core CPUs to higher-end Ryzen chips.

Integrated Wi-Fi 6E provides access to the less congested 6GHz band, while the onboard 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet controller delivers faster wired connectivity than the standard Gigabit networking still found on many budget-oriented boards.
Storage expansion receives equal attention. The motherboard carries three M.2 slots alongside four SATA ports, providing room for multiple SSDs and large-capacity storage drives. PCIe 4.0 support allows compatible Ryzen processors to take advantage of faster NVMe storage without requiring a platform change.
Expansion options remain suitable for modern gaming builds. A reinforced PCIe graphics card slot helps support larger GPUs, while the ATX layout offers additional room for expansion cards, cooling hardware, and future upgrades.
ASRock has added several builder-friendly features. A pre-installed I/O shield reduces installation time, diagnostic LEDs assist with troubleshooting during first boot, and tool-free SSD mounting simplifies storage upgrades.

The board arrives at a time when several manufacturers continue refreshing the AM4 market with lower-cost designs. Compared with many entry-level alternatives, the B550 Rock WiFi combines faster networking, broader storage support, and a full-size ATX layout in a single package.
The continued arrival of new AM4 hardware reflects the platform’s large installed base. Millions of Ryzen processors remain in active use, and many owners are looking for motherboard upgrades without replacing their CPU and memory.
ASRock has confirmed a June 26 debut in Japan with an expected retail price of ¥16,980, or roughly $105. At that price, the B550 Rock WiFi enters the market as a feature-rich motherboard for Ryzen users who want modern connectivity while staying on the AM4 platform.
