1. ASUS ROG Strix G16
Best Powerful Laptop for Cricut and Design Work

PCVenus Matrix Score: 92/100
| Category | Score | Notes |
| Performance (25) | 23/25 | Smooth for Cricut, editing, and even gaming |
| Battery (20) | 16/20 | Around two hours heavy, six hours light tasks |
| Display (15) | 14/15 | Clear, fluid, anti-glare panel for design work |
| Thermals/Noise (15) | 15/15 | Reliable cooling with no throttling |
| Keyboard and IO (10) | 9/10 | Comfortable typing, useful port selection |
| Portability (5) | 5/5 | Reasonable for a 16 inch machine |
| Value (10) | 10/10 | Excellent balance of price and power |
This ASUS ROG Strix G16 runs Cricut Design Space, and it provided a smooth and stable experience even with complex projects. Large SVG files opened quickly, layering and editing were responsive, and switching between Cricut and other design tools like Photoshop or Illustrator was incredibly easy.
This laptop also excelled at multitasking. We ran Cricut Design Space alongside multiple Chrome tabs, Spotify, and a few background apps, and it never lagged.
For those who enjoy playing games or editing videos in addition to Cricut projects, the performance is more than adequate. In fact, games like Cyberpunk 2077 ran at around 90 frames per second on high settings, demonstrating the system’s ability to handle heavy graphics workloads.
Cooling performance also impressed us. Even after hours of editing and testing projects, the laptop maintained a consistent temperature without slowing down. The fan noise is audible even under heavy load, but it’s not distracting, and we never noticed any drop in performance.
Compared to budget laptops like the Acer Nitro V, the Strix G16 feels more stable during long design sessions. While premium options like the Razer Blade 16 offer a more robust display and a slimmer design, they cost significantly more. The Strix G16 is a great option, offering strong performance without the hefty price tag.
Battery life is about average for a high-performance laptop. We got about 2 hours with heavy workloads and about 6 hours with light tasks like browsing, design planning, or managing files. It’s best used as a desk-based machine, although you can manage without a plug-in for shorter periods of time.
The 16-inch display was another plus point for this laptop. It looked sharp and smooth when previewing designs or editing images, and the anti-glare finish made it comfortable for the eyes over long periods of time. For Cricut users who also create graphics or work on color-heavy projects, this display feels reliable and comfortable.
