Logitech may be getting ready to expand its gaming mouse lineup with the Superstrike 2. A new leak shared through the Pericord Discord community and later reposted by jakeufps on X claims the mouse is planned for a September unveiling during the Logitech G Play event. The leaked information points to hardware refinements while keeping much of the original G Pro X2 Superstrike intact.
The leak claims Logitech will keep the current HERO optical sensor instead of introducing a HERO 3 sensor. That means tracking hardware may remain unchanged from the existing model. The HERO sensor already powers several of Logitech’s high-end gaming mice, so the company appears to be concentrating on other hardware improvements this time.
A new microcontroller (MCU) is expected to be part of those changes. The leak does not identify the chip or explain what has been upgraded, and Logitech has not confirmed any technical details. More information is likely to surface once the company officially introduces the mouse.
Logitech is reportedly refining its HITS, or Haptic Intelligent Trigger System, which first arrived with the original G Pro X2 Superstrike. The technology combines magnetic switches with adjustable actuation distance and customizable haptic feedback, allowing users to change how each click feels. The leak mentions improvements to both features but does not reveal exactly what has changed.
The Superstrike entered the market when magnetic switch gaming mice were still uncommon. Since then, several brands have introduced their own models with adjustable actuation and magnetic switches. Buyers now have far more choices than they did earlier this year, making the premium gaming mouse category much more competitive.
The leak focuses on internal hardware, but players are already discussing changes they would like to see. A lighter body, improved PTFE skates, better front-to-back weight balance, and a redesigned shell are among the most common requests from current Superstrike owners. Some users felt the original mouse was slightly front-heavy during quick flick shots, making balance a frequent topic in community discussions.
There is no information about changes to the mouse’s external design. Its weight, dimensions, battery capacity, wireless polling rate, charging support, onboard memory, software features, pricing, and availability have not been revealed.

The reported September timing matches Logitech G Play, where the company has introduced new gaming peripherals in previous years. If the leak is accurate, additional information could emerge closer to the event.
